The Colourbond Series are paintings of individual-style Queenslander homes ranging from colonial worker's cottages to triple gables, Ashgrovian and Spanish-mission style, just to name a few. Each piece is so named because of the roof colour matching the Colorbond steel colours in Australia.
Each artwork employs large areas of clashing foreground colour plains, a middle-ground house and the background suggesting the sub-tropical backyards and views beyond.
Highly colourful, these works allowed Debra to place unlikely colour companions in a deliberately challenging way.
These artworks are limited to an edition of 1000. To view available sizes and formats, follow the Shop Reproductions button or Contact Us
The team at Debra Hood Art acknowledges the Jagera and Turrbul peoples as traditional owners of the land the beautiful Meanjin/Brisbane city resides. We recognise their connection to land, wind, water and community and pay respects to elders, past, present and emerging. The Meanjin/Brisbane area has such a splendid abundance of nature, and we feel so lucky to be able to capture and share its beauty through art.
